James MacNeil – His Early Results
James described himself as a rock player for most of his musical life, while also having a long time interest in Jazz. After being bombarded with the routine menu of modes and scales, James discovered the Robert Conti approach to learning to play jazz guitar. This video documents his earliest results from working with the Ticket To Improv DVD series for entry level jazz guitarists as well as The Jazz Lines and The Precision Technique in the Source Code DVD series.
Mike Irish & The 5 Sax Arrangement of “Round Midnight”
Mike Irish, Director of Jazz Studies at Michigan Tech University created this superb five saxophone adaptation from an arrangement that was reharmonized by Robert Conti for solo guitar. Mike cleverly isolated the voices of each chord from the Conti arrangement, and then reassigned each voice to the individual players.
