New to arranging chord melody? The Chord Melody Assembly Line book/DVD will get you started immediately. As most are aware, Robert Conti is well known for his ability as a soloist who can confidently step in front a rhythm section and peel paint off the walls at ridiculous tempos, with total authority. However, in addition to his reputation as a bop player, Robert Conti is also well documented as a highly successful solo jazz guitarist. An exquisite sound and a repertoire over three thousand songs keeps him in demand for numerous “high end” private functions in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. His stellar credentials also include a ten year engagement in a luxurious Southern California hotel.
From Lesson One, you’ll discover how easy it is to actually start assembling a working collection of chord melody arrangements of your favorite songs. In addition to learning the “assembly line” protocol, Conti takes it a step further and walks you through three complete songs.
If you’re ready to learn the art of solo guitar, this DVD is your opportunity to learn from a working Pro, who actually performs nearly every night of the week. Don’t settle for anything less than this level of quality instruction from a bona fide Pro.
We are frequently asked the difference between The Formula and The Chord Melody Assembly Line. Simply stated, if you’re just starting out with wanting to create chord melodies from a lead sheet or fake book, start with this product, then move onto The Formula which thoroughly covers Robert’s approach to advanced reharmonization.

Robert Conti has a good book/method called the Chord Melody Assembly Line. It's been many years since I looked at it but I remember it as a straight forward, easy to follow approach that gets you playing quickly.
I discovered Robert Conti through the article in Just Jazz Guitar Magazine. I have purchased his Chord Melody Assembly Line book/DVD, and am working through it at this time. Robert certainly has a knack for making the esoteric obvious! I would be interested to know of any new offerings he may have for guitar instruction. Also, he should really come back to his roots here in Pennsylvania once in a while so that us east-coasters can meet him, see him play, take a lesson or two!
Hi folks, Not a question but just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to Robert and colleagues. I've just completed the Assembly Line course and have not worked on something on the guitar with such enthusiasm since I discovered the humble A minor pentatonic. The course was fantastic and has got me to believe that actually playing solo guitar isn't beyond me. Brilliantly accessible with a focus on playing music, I now look forward to purchasing "The Formula" and having a look at some of the improv courses too in the coming weeks. Thanks again.
This is exactly what I needed and exactly what I was looking for. I've been in love with chord melody playing but could absolutely not figure out where to even start. There's tons of youtube content out there, but very little guidance. You're just thrown into the deep end and expected to figure it out yourself. While there is some value to that (and I don't think I could have maximized the value I got from this course if it wasn't for some of the other training I've done), Conti does a phenomenal job of removing all the guess work. By giving you a limited set of options to get started, you immediately have all the voicings you need to start figuring out arrangements. After I finished the course I popped open the real book and just kept working on applying the voicings every day, sometimes to different standards, sometimes to the same one to internalize a certain set of voicings more deeply. And it works. After just a few months of practice, I can genuinely say I have some ability to play chord melody, and I find myself surprised by what my hands are able to do on the guitar. It's an immense joy to be able to do a little bit of justice to this music and to find what I'm capable of, and I absolutely could not have done it without this course. Thank you Robert Conti!!!
I'm just finishing (working on Danny Boy) the Assembly Line and loved it. Starting the Formula! now and on my second exercise in the Precision Technique. Loving every bit of it! I am so excited because Mr. Conti's materials are transforming my playing!
Chord Melody Assembly Line is a succinct, powerful, course with first-rate production values. What a pleasure it is to deal with a company with such Integrity and Class.
Hello Mr. Conti, What a pleasure sir, I have no words to express my respect for you sir. I've been working with chord melody over jazz standards for the last 12 years. Always finding of course multiple challenges and problems. When I bought The Chord Melody Assembly Line, I saw all the doors opening in my face: What a feeling. Thank you for that book. In one month I felt I learned more than in the last 12 years. So well explained.
