Desifinado - 2:11

What A Wonderful World - 2:05
2001 2001 NAMM Show, Anaheim, California - The Reed Kotler Exhibit. I Got The World On A String
2001
NAMM Show, Anaheim, California - The Polytone Exhibit.
As you will see, there‘s lots of activity at
the Polytone Exhibit. Conti begins his Saturday set
with a swinging version of ”I Got The World
On A String.”
Green Dolphin Street - 4:30
2001
NAMM Show, Anaheim, California - The Polytone Exhibit.
Conti‘s impromptu trio opens with “Green
Dolphin Street.” Incidentally, the guy
in the crowd with the ice cream cone is Carvin‘s
PR Director, Dave Flores, who apparently decided to
take a break from the Carvin exhibit to hear the players.
Satin Doll - 2:49
2001
NAMM Show, Anaheim, California
followed by a very hip “Satin Doll.” As you can see, these three superb musicians are simply
having a great time! In addition to Ron‘s great
playing, just listen to the exquisite sound of his
D‘Angelico guitar that is nearly a half century
old! Conti says about Ron Anthony: "Ron is nothing
less than an institution - he's done it all, up to
and including a stint with Sinatra!"As
you watch this clip, there are a few one second breaks
in the tape due to video/audio problems. Then, at
one point, someone in the next booth tripped over
the main power supply to the Polytone exhibit. When
this happened, everyone thought the notorious “NAMM
Police” had actually pulled the plug, because
of the large crowd, and the music may have exceeded
the maximum decibel limit allowed by NAMM ! As
the set is over, we also see a very happy Tommy Gumina
smiling at the huge crowd that swarmed the Polytone
exhibit for Conti‘s performance!
Like Young - 1:27
2001
NAMM Show - Reed Kotler‘s Exhibit.
This is another great ninety second clip from Conti's
solo section of “Like Young.”
One Note Samba - 1:19
2001
NAMM Show - The Polytone Exhibit.
In addition to his sidekicks Ron Anthony and Frank
DeVito during the Saturday performance , there was
another great treat at Conti‘s Sunday Polytone
performance. The world renowned LA Session Bassist
Carole Kaye joined the proceedings! Unknown to most
of today‘s younger musicians, she is an absolutely
superb musician who has a list of recording credits
that simply defies belief. In addition to writing
numerous methodology books, Ms. Kaye has appeared
on over 10,000 recordings during her career! In fact,
she performed on most of the great Motown recordings!
This woman is truly a legend in her own lifetime !
This clip contains solo segments from “One
Note Samba”
I'll Remember April - 3:39
2001
NAMM Show - The Polytone Exhibit.
This clip contains a ripping version of “I‘ll
Remember April !" Buckle up, as you
watch these two super guitarists just roar through
the complex chordal structure of this tune as if it
were child‘s play! This writer has seen it all,
and I can assure you, it doesn‘t get any better
than this! This
clip also features some comedy from the famous Tommy
Gumina, as he tells the audience this is the “Italian
Hour” with Frank DeVito, Ron Anthony and Robert
Conti, and Tommy made Carole Kaye an instant Italian
by amusingly changing her name to Carole Kaviti !
Carole was even amused! At
the end of the performance, that fellow who visits
Conti is Ralph Chreiman, who has been a friend since
the early 60's! Ralph has been a sales executive with
Martin Guitars since 1969!

Flying Home - 2:35
2000
NAMM Show, L.A. Convention Center.
Through the years, numerous critics and fans have
continuously recognized and commented on Conti‘s
physical endurance as he is capable of delivering
an unending barrage of unbelievably complex jazz lines
at ungodly tempos. This two and a half minute clip
was actually excerpted from an outrageous five minute
performance of “Flying Home” at
the close of the 2000 Show. Enjoy!
A Foggy Day - 1:20
2000
NAMM Show, L.A. Convention Center.
An unusual event happened while this clip was taken.
There is a section on this video clip where someone
accidently tilted the video camera. However, instead
of losing the picture, you will see Conti‘s reflection
in the top of a black glass table. Buckle up for an
absolutely smoking solo as Conti roars through a blistering
version of “A Foggy Day!” Incidentally, credit for this video clip blooper goes
to an allegedly sober Danny Carlin, who is Conti‘s
sidekick in the SoCal group “The Blues Authority.”
Georgia - 1:01
